SEED4AFRICA will lay the foundations of an international network of VET providers in three European countries: Italy, Belgium and Spain; and four African countries: Nigeria, Benin, Kenya and South Africa; in which we will work to improve the professional profile of VET teachers in the agricultural sector. The preparatory meeting for this Erasmus+ project, which will last 3 years, was held on 26 January.
The project has been funded in the framework of the call ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CB-VET: for the implementation of Capacity Building Projects based on international cooperation of multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of Vocational Education and Training in EU Member States, third countries associated to the Programme, and third countries not associated to the Programme. It aims to support the relevance, accessibility and responsiveness of VET institutions and systems in third countries not associated to the Programme as a driver for sustainable socio-economic development.
Within the SEED4Africa project, Innogestiona is the lead entity in the training of the VET teacher network. In this task, Innogestiona will work on the adaptation of the contents of action C5 of the LIFE LiveAdapt project, which ended last December 2022, where we work under the coordination of Fundación Entretantos and the rest of the consortium members.
In addition to other face-to-face activities (kick-off meeting in Italy, preparatory visits to all participating countries and social hackathon in Italy), an international face-to-face workshop is planned for VET professionals from all entities and countries participating in the project, which will take place in Extremadura in early 2024 and will also be organised by Innogestiona Ambiental.
The project consortium is led by Umbraflor (Italia), together with EGINA (Italy), FARMTECH SOCIETY (FaTeSo – Belgium), Learning academy worldwide (South Africa), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU – Nigeria), Institut National des Recherches Agricoles (INRAB – Benin), Don Bosco Tech Africa (Kenya) + Innogestiona Ambiental (Spain).
