Badajoz —20/11/2025— Patricia Mora, director of Innogestiona Ambiental, has been recognised with the Award for the Patent with the Greatest Impact at the IPfest Extremadura gala, a leading event in innovation and industrial property held at the Edificio Metálico in Badajoz.
The award recognises the patent for the ‘Rainstock’, a pioneering system developed by Innogestiona Ambiental that improves water management in extensive livestock farms. The technology allows rainwater to be collected and stored in a closed tank that is only released to animals identified with electronic ear tags. This optimises the use of water resources and reduces the risk of contagion from diseases transmitted by wildlife, such as tuberculosis.
The innovation responds to one of the main challenges facing the extensive livestock sector: ensuring that water is available and safe throughout the year, especially in areas affected by seasonal drought and the loss of natural ponds. The system also contributes to improving the environmental sustainability of farms by making efficient use of rainwater.
For Patricia Mora, the award is recognition of the effort to promote practical and sustainable solutions in rural areas.
The IPfest Extremadura, promoted by FUNDECYT-PCTEX, annually rewards the projects with the greatest impact in innovation, technology transfer and industrial property, becoming a key platform for highlighting developments that contribute to the progress of the region’s business and scientific fabric.
