On 5 and 6 October 2022, the kick-off meeting of the InnOBreed project was held at the CIHEAM (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute) in Bari (Italy).

Funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, InnOBreed focuses on organic fruit production by identifying, implementing and transferring innovations throughout the production chain.

The project consortium includes 21 partners from 9 countries: Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark and Greece.

InnOBreed is being developed following a participatory and co-creation approach, incorporating the perspectives of local actors and stakeholders from the different participating countries, addressing real problems identified in the organic fruit farming sector.

The project will provide innovative solutions for a better and more sustainable development of the organic fruit sector. The project involves researchers, innovation agents and farmers working in collaboration with key players in the sector in Europe. The project will last 4 years and will include nine work packages and 12 case studies connected to the identification and validation of innovations.

Innogestiona ambiental, partner of the project, is leading work package 8 “Impact assessment and risk management”, actively participating also in other tasks related to sustainability, sector diagnosis, policy improvement and innovation management.
