Our Head of European Projects, Juan Pablo Martín, actively participated in the European workshop organised by the EU CAP Network under the title:

‘Innovation in Logistics to Improve the Position of Farmers in a Supply Chain’.

This meeting brought together European professionals, organisations and experts to exchange best practices, explore technological and organisational solutions, and strengthen the role of farmers in food supply chains, within the framework of innovation and sustainability.

Day 1: Inspiring cases and logistics in the field

The first day focused on real and innovative experiences in the field of agri-food logistics, especially in short supply chains. Participants learned first-hand about initiatives developed in the Normandy region:

  • Maison Grosdoit, specialising in high-quality meat products and short supply chains.
  • Box Fermier Normand, a collective project that brings together and distributes local products from more than 200 farmers.
  • Domaine de Merval, an educational farm committed to organic production and value-added agri-food processing (AOC and PDO).

These visits provided practical inspiration on how producers can organise their logistics to improve their competitiveness and autonomy in the value chain.

Day 2: Knowledge transfer and new collaborations

The second day included interactive sessions aimed at identifying barriers, sharing common challenges and proposing solutions for innovation in supply chains. Highlights included:

  • World Café on logistical challenges and possible ways to improve.
  • Presentation of funding opportunities in Horizon Europe.
  • Networking spaces to foster synergies between European projects and entities.

Invitation to join European advisory networks

During the event, Juan Pablo Martín took the opportunity to invite European stakeholders to join the network of advisors promoting the projects:

🔹 EU4Advice

Coordinated by Innogestiona Ambiental, this project aims to lay the foundations for capacity building among actors in short food supply chains (SFSCs).

EU4Advice supports advisors as catalysts for the flow of knowledge from research to practice and encourages their integration into national AKIS.

🔹 COREnet

A European project that promotes the creation of a European community of rural advisors, connecting technical knowledge with the real needs of the agricultural sector and strengthening their role in the transition to sustainable agri-food systems.

A firm commitment to collaborative innovation

Juan Pablo Martín’s participation in this workshop reaffirms our organisation’s commitment to European cooperation, the promotion of sustainable solutions and improving access to knowledge in the rural and agri-food sector.

‘Spaces like this allow us to connect experiences, promote practical solutions and strengthen the voice of farmers in a European context that is increasingly demanding in terms of sustainability and resilience,’ says Juan Pablo Martín.
